Coffee Addict? Save your money, and buy a Keurig.

Hey Everyone! I hope Monday is treating you right!

Did you get to Dunkin early enough to get your fresh cup of joe? Was your order made just the way you like it? Chances are, you answered “no” to one of these questions.

Did you know, according to a USA Today article, the average American spends $1,092 a year on coffee alone. For a broke college kid… that’s a LOT of money to spend on a substance that keeps you alert for about 4 hours.

If you haven’t heard of the Keurig coffee machine, than you might be living under a rock… or are just unaware of the technology that creates the perfect cup of coffee right in your own home! (For the sake of this post, I’m going to focus on the single cup brewing system, as pictured below)

This isn’t an ordinary coffee maker. The Keurig operates with a ‘K-Cup’ system that eliminates the process of grounding the coffee. It’s all done for you in a compact container like this one!

Once the K-cup is inserted into the machine, you just close the lever and wait for the water to heat up!

One tip is to make sure you’re filter and your reservoir (fancy word for water container) are clean about every three months!

The average price for the at home single cup brewing system ranges from about $70-$130 on the Kuerig website, but if you shop online at, they are offering a bundle right now if you purchase the Keurig Elite K40 Single Serve Coffeemaker, it will include a 18ct box of delicious ‘Coffee People Donut Shop’ K-Cups free!

Right now, Walmart is also offering an online K-Cup bundle on some of your favorite brands like:

  • Starbucks
  • Foldgers
  • Lipton Iced Tea
  • and more!
  • So stop spending gas to go spend money on coffee, and make the switch to Keurig!
