So, you ran out of money last night while hangin with your girls at ladies night. You currently have NO money to get you through the week. You know what that means? You’re obviously not the BEST budgeter ever.
With the holidays right around the corner, on top of your everyday expenses, there is no better time to nip this bad habit in the bud. MINT will help you become that budgeting guru you have always dreamed of becoming.
Mint is available in the iTunes App store and also for Android, but if you’re not so tech savy, the website is also available!
To start, sign up for an account which will link to your current bank account.
Once all of the accounts you want to watch over are linked to the app, you can keep track of:
- Each account you have
It keeps look at each of your accounts easy by splitting it up if you have a credit card and a debit card (going to use my account i’ve already set up to give you a little clue about how helpful this thing is!) :
- The cash flow section of the app gives you an insight of how much money you’re spending at each of the different places you go to on a normal basis:
- The budgets section helps you create a budget for each kind of thing you have a tendency to spend the major on such as gas, food, and clothes. (Hint, you can also set up personalized budgets, so with the holidays coming, you can set up a budget for each person on you’re shopping list to remind you how much you want to spend on them):
- The spending section shows you how much money you’ve actually spent in the last month, and also compares the current months spending on the your last few months spending. The best part about this section is the interactive graphs that literally show you what you’re doing with the money you make.
Another reason why this app is so handy is it gives you different kinds of alerts pertaining to low funds, how much money you have left in all of your accounts, and it’ll even tell you if there is weird activity going on that you might not be aware of!
Of all the featured apps, this one might be the most important that you get. You won’t be disappointed, and only learn more about how much you’re actually spending!
